Welcome Back to Spaced Out! Astronomers have a thing for big Explosions and Collisions, and it always seems like they are trying to one-up themselves in finding a bigger, brighter one. The shockwave is traveling through space at speed of 1,500 kilometers per second (930 miles per second). The particular galaxy cluster that caused the shockwave is called Abell 3667. At least 550 galaxies are associated with it. This shockwave is visible in radio wavelength. It has been observed by a team of astronomers using the MeerKAT radio telescope in South Africa.
